The Black Ribbon Campaign asks supporters to wear black on February 1 and again on the final day of February. These two dates create a visible opening and closing message for Black History Month: unity, strength, dignity and action.
Participation can be simple. Wear black, pin on your Black Ribbon, take the pledge and tell someone why you are participating. Schools, workplaces, families and community groups can use the Campaign Toolkit for posters, announcements, discussion guides and shareable graphics.
The goal is not uniformity. It is solidarity — different people choosing to stand together against racism and intolerance.
