Awareness symbols matter because they make values visible. The Black Ribbon Campaign invites people of every background to wear a black ribbon as a simple public statement: racism, intolerance and division should never be normalized.
The ribbon is not presented as a complete solution. It is a starting point for conversation, reflection and action. When families, schools, workplaces, organizations and communities wear it together, the symbol becomes a shared reminder that dignity is not conditional and that stronger communities are built by people willing to stand together.
Take the pledge, wear the Black Ribbon and invite someone else to learn what the symbol represents.
